    Second Bomb Wing executes Combat Hammer

    Airmen from the 2nd Bomb Wing loaded and employed nearly 50 types of various munitions and flew a total of eight sorties in support of exercise Combat Hammer, March 8-12. A week-long evaluation of the wing’s capacity to generate, load and employ conventional weapons on target, Combat Hammer measured the effectiveness and lethality of Barksdale’s combat capabilities.

    Knuckle Buster Academy: 2nd AMXS holds developmental course to better Airmen

    The 2nd Bomb Wing vision is to be the best: best at the mission, best at taking care of Airmen, best at taking care of families. To better accomplish this vision, the 2nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron has started a new professional development program that is open to all 2nd Maintenance Group Airmen and civilian employees.

    Strengthening community ties through innovation

    “Innovation is the hallmark of the United States Air Force,” said Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson, during a 2017 Air Force Association conference. “From time to time it is important to refresh our science and technology strategy, to step back from the programs and problems of today and project 10 or 20 years into the future.” In May 2018, the 2nd Bomb Wing hosted a Spark Tank event, developed to provide Airmen a platform to share their potentially ground-breaking ideas that they have developed in hopes of receiving funding for their concepts and supporting the same values Wilson explained.
