Folding the Flag: Honoring Those Who Served
Members of the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard fold the American flag during a funeral honors ceremony at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota, Nov. 13, 2023. The flag is folded thirteen times on the triangle and neatly arranged so that only the blue field with stars are visible before it is handed off to the veteran’s next of kin.
