A Splendid Ceremony
Members of the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard fold a flag during a memorial ceremony for U.S. Lt. Col. James I. Hopkins at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington D.C., Sept. 30, 2021. Hopkins was on a C-124 Globemaster II bound for RAF Lakenheath, England when it crashed south of Ireland. A headstone was placed for Hopkins in his hometown of Palestine, Texas, in 1951. Last year, Hopkins's family started the 18-month process to have him honored at Arlington. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Heather Salazar)
