Ellsworth cold spray team completes first AF personnel only repair
Members assigned to the 28th Maintenance Squadron Additive Manufacturing and Rapid Repair Facility prepare to restore elongated Tridair Fastener holes on the Forward Equipment Bay panel of a B-1B Lancer at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., April 8, 2020. The part, which would have normally cost $83,000 to replace instead cost $4,000 when repaired via cold spray by Ellsworth AFB’s team of technicians – saving the Air Force roughly $79,000 per panel.
