USSTRATCOM and Australian Defence Force Bolster Close Working Relationship
U.S. Navy Adm. Cecil D. Haney (center left), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) commander, briefs Royal Australian Navy Vice Adm. Raymond J. Griggs (right), Vice Chief of the Australian Defence Force, in the Battle Deck of the Global Operations Center during Griggs’ visit to USSTRATCOM Headquarters, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., Nov. 30, 2015. While here, Griggs participated in a series of discussions with USSTRATCOM senior leaders to gain a better understanding of the command and its missions. Hosting Griggs’ visit is one of many of USSTRATCOM’s ongoing efforts to build and maintain enduring relationships with partner nations to confront the broad range of global challenges. One of nine DoD unified combatant commands, USSTRATCOM has global strategic missions, assigned through the Unified Command Plan, which include strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
