Striker Trident

U.S. Navy Lt. Mitchel Normand is one of two Navy nuclear engineer-qualified submarine officers selected for the Striker Trident exchange program. He is currently assigned to Air Force Global Strike Command headquarters at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. Striker Trident is a joint exchange program which promotes an expanded view of the nuclear enterprise by allowing Air Force nuclear missile officers to temporarily serve with ballistic missile submarines and Navy nuclear missile officers to serve with land-based missile units. USSTRATCOM is one of nine DoD unified combatant commands and is charged with strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; mission defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combat weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
