Minot B-52s participate, train with allies in BALTOPS, Saber Strike exercises
Two B-52H Stratofortresses from Minot Air Force Base, N.D., sit on the flightline after landing at Royal Air Force Fairford, England, June 5, 2015. In total, three B-52s and over 300 air crews, maintenance crews and support teams from bases across Air Force Global Strike Command forward deployed to RAF Fairford to participate in multi-national BALTOPS and Sabre Strike exercises. The purpose of BALTOPS 15 is to promote mutual understanding, confidence, cooperation and inoperability among forces and personnel of participating nation. Sabre Strike is a long-standing U.S. Army Europe-led cooperative training exercise conducted annually, which aims to improve cooperation and capabilities of participating nations for future contingency operations and train participants on command and control as well as interoperability with regional partners.
