B-2 participates in nuclear weapon systems evaluation
The Spirit of New York, a B-2 bomber assigned to the 509th Bomb Wing, lands at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., after conducting an end-to-end operational nuclear weapon systems evaluation May 19, 2015. The evaluation demonstrated the strategic bomber force's ability to prepare, load, fly and deliver nuclear-capable munitions. During the event, the B-2 flew to the Tonopah Test Range in Nevada and deployed two inert Joint Test Assembly munitions to simulate B-61-7 and B-83 gravity weapons.
