Phase Airmen keep B-52s ready to fight
Airmen with the 2nd Maintenance Squadron phase hangar perform a periodic inspection on a B-52H Stratofortress on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Nov. 24, 2014. A periodic inspection is performed on all aircraft with more than 450 flight hours. Access panels are removed and inspected by engineers. Each inspection is a 14-day phase starting with panel removal and 11 maintenance flights inspect each component of the aircraft looking for defects.
