Silo elimination

A construction worker fills earth and gravel into the launcher tube at Launch Facility R-29, Pondera County, Mont., on Feb. 25. To meet the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty requirements, 50 previously deactivated 564th Missile Squadron Minuteman III launch facilities are being permanently eliminated.
