An F-16B Fighting Falcon accompanies the first ever B-2 Spirit to take flight July 17, 1989, over California. The flight took place from the Northrop Grumman production facility in Palmdale, California to Edwards Air Force Base, California where the B-2 would remain in the testing phase until 1993, when the first operational aircraft was delivered to Whiteman AFB, Missouri.
