FOD Walk

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- Maintainers and crew chiefs with the 509th Maintenance Squadron and 131st Bomb Wing prepare to perform a Foreign Object Debris walk before starting their day, Sept. 28, 2010. FOD mishaps can potentially result in extensive aircraft damage, ultimately hindering the Air Force's flying mission. To counter such events, crew chiefs, maintainers and other personnel working on the flightline take responsibility for eliminating FOD to keep the aircraft safe and the flying mission soaring.
