Barksdale warrior brings Southern cooking to Afghanistan
PANJSHIR PROVINCE, Afghanistan -- Tech. Sgt. Jeremy Louk, a native of Petal, Miss., deployed from Barksdale Air Force Base, La., and Provincial Reconstruction Team Panjshir engineering superintendent of construction and development, covered the okra and the other main gumbo ingredients in a mixture of 15 different spices and seasonings prior to adding them to the pot.
