Lancers execute first-ever Block 16 long-range strike exercise
A 9th Bomb Squadron B-1B Lancer at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, begins its 15-hour flight to the Alaskan Yukon Range Feb. 23, 2016, during a B-1 Combat Mission Effectiveness Exercise. This was the first exercise to utilize Block 16 B-1 aircraft in a long-range mission. Dyess operations, maintenance and support personnel were successfully able to deploy all six aircraft tasked for the exercise within 48 hours.
