Latest Enlisted 'Perspective' features nuclear enterprise priority Published June 11, 2010 By Janie Santos Air Force News Service WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Over the last few months, Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Roy has visited Air Force Global Strike Command bases, including Minot and F.E. Warren, and other nuclear enterprise units. The chief said it was an eye-opening experience. "These Airmen have unique working conditions, like driving for hours on end to reach their remote duty locations, stringent security checks just to enter work and a rigorous inspection schedule," Chief Roy said. "However, the most demanding challenge is the need for perfection," he said. Chief Roy said it is clear the Airmen of the nuclear enterprise take individual responsibility for mission success. "Our nuclear enterprise provides an umbrella of security for both the U.S. and many of our strategic partner nation countries, he said. "Providing that strategic deterrent requires a sustained level of competence to make sure the nuclear arsenal is safe and secure." This viewpoint can be viewed HERE.
