'Best of the Best' Bomber and Missile Wings earn top honors in competition

Air Force Global Strike Command officials announced the overall winners of the first Global Strike Challenge, Nov. 17.

With the Under Secretary of the Air Force, Ms. Erin Conaton, and commanders of two major commands looking on, the revelers capped the months-long bomber, missile and security forces competition with trophy presentations honoring historical events and leaders.

The host, Global Strike Commander Lt. Gen. Frank Klotz, was joined by Air Combat Command Commander Gen. William M. Fraser III, 8th Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Floyd Carpenter, 20th Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. C. Donald Alston, command chiefs, industry leaders, community leaders and past winners for the culminating event at historic Hoban Hall here Nov. 17.

Bomber, missile and security forces were recognized in the first-ever Global Strike Challenge for superior technical and weapons system expertise in the following award categories:
