WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- The commander of U.S. Strategic Command toured facilities at F. E. Warren on March 11 as part of a routine visit to the combatant command bases he oversees. The purpose of this visit was to familiarize Gen. C. Robert Kehler with Warren's deterrence operation. "What an honor it was having our combatant commander visit us," said Col. Greg Tims, 90th Missile Wing commander. "This visit allowed us to show him that 'providing preeminent combat capability across the spectrum of conflict' is more than a mission statement -- it's a daily reality." While at Warren, General Kehler met with Maj. Gen. C. Donald Alston, 20th Air Force commander and commander of USSTRATCOM's Task Force 214, along with 90th Missile Wing leadership and 90th Maintenance Group personnel. The general received a first-hand look at the missile transportation vehicles and toured the electronics laboratory. "I am confident General Kehler walked away from here knowing that F. E. Warren is ready 24-7-365," Colonel Tims added.
