Global Strike Command hosts competition score posting

Air Force Global Strike Command's second annual Global Strike Challenge missile, bomb and security forces competition will culminate with the score posting finale here, Nov. 8-9.

Team and individual awards will be presented to those teams with the highest performance scores among Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, B-2 Spirit, B-52 Stratofortress, B-1 Lancer, UH-1N Huey and security forces units.

"Global Strike Challenge is the equivalent of the Olympics for our forces," said Lt. Col. Michael Petrosh, command lead for Global Strike Challenge. "It is a competition that challenges our Airmen to exceed the highest of performance standards and to be recognized for that excellence."

Competitors include more than 480 Airmen from Global Strike Command, Air Combat Command and the Air Force Reserve Command. Team participants include missile crew, maintenance, helicopter and security forces teams from Malmstrom AFB, Mont.; Minot AFB, N.D.; and F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo. Aircrew, maintenance and security forces teams from Whiteman AFB, Mo.; Minot; Dyess AFB, Texas; Ellsworth AFB, S.D.; and Barksdale AFB will also participate.
