"The gunners" are coming to Malmstrom Air Force Base and Minot Air Force Base to share their tales of survival in the face of adversity in support of Air Force Global Strike Command's initiative to promote resiliency among the Airmen of Global Strike.

"The Gunners" tour is scheduled to visit Malmstrom Sept. 25 -26 and Minot Sept. 27 -28, where Sal 'Gonzo' Gonzalez and Daniel Gilyeat, former U.S. Marine Corps heavy machine gun operators who lost limbs as a result of roadside bombs in Iraq, will engage with Airmen. Coming home from Iraq wounded warriors, both men have words to share about remaining resilient through their struggles.

"Our goal is to show our Airmen that in life, adversity happens. And
whatever struggles they might be dealing with now, our Airmen can get
through them and as a result, they will be stronger," said Chief Master Sgt. Brian Hornback, command chief, AFGSC.

"The American 300 tour supports Global Strike in its efforts to build strong Airmen - Airmen who can demonstrate the same resolve and strength that Dan and Sal have shown as they have overcome their challenges." said Maj. Jason McCree, Air Force Global Strike Command.
