Air Force Global Strike Command
The globe reflects the command’s global capabilities. The golden wings represent the dominance in the air and reflect our lineage to the Army Air Corps strategic bombing campaigns of World War II. The blue field alludes to the sky, the primary domain of the Air Force. The Hap Arnold Star, taken from the only common elements of the 8th Air Force and 20th Air Force emblems, represents clarity of purpose to maintain readiness and deter adversaries. The red disc symbolizes past and present Airmen who have made individual sacrifices to achieve mission goals. The lightning flashes, taken from the Strategic Air Command emblem, are symbolic of speed and power, represent our warfighting mission, should deterrence fail.
