A base economic impact statement (EIS) quantifies the financial effect of a military installation on the surrounding region. It details the base's spending on payroll, contracts, construction, and other expenditures, and analyzes the ripple effect of this spending on local businesses and employment. Essentially, it measures how the base's presence contributes to the local and regional economy. This includes direct spending, indirect spending, job creation, and the overall financial impact of our bases on the local and regional economy. It is also a way to provide transparency about the base’s economic contributions in the communities that support our mission, Airmen, and families.
