The model B-52H Stratofortress is a 20-ft long, one-eighth scale replica of the Lucky Lady IV located at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. The model's real-world counterpart with whom it shares its namesake, holds a record-setting flight around the world in 47.2 hours. The model was donated to Barksdale on Aug. 18, 2004, by The Boeing Company and bears the name of Maj. Gen. William E. Eubank Jr., the first man to command a B-52 unit. WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Bear, a golden retriever and Whiteman AFB pet, relaxes at his home. Whiteman pet owners should follow the rules and regulations and reference the Whiteman AFB Instruction 48-131/Domestic Animal Control Manuel. Base residents must register and have a microchip inserted into their animals at the veterinary treatment facility within five duty days of their arrival to the base. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., was awarded the Blanchard Trophy for best missile wing during the Global Strike Challenge score posting events at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Nov. 17. The trophy is named after Gen. William H. Blanchard, Strategic Air command’s Director of Operation in the early 1960s, and is one of the top two awards for the competition. BARKSDALE AIR FOR BASE, La. -- The Security Forces Team from the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., was awarded the first-ever Charlie Fire Team Trophy for best security forces firing team during the Global Strike Challenge score posting events at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Nov. 17. The trophy is dedicated to all security police and security forces members who have given their lives in support of the U.S. Air Forces’ nuclear mission.
